The GE Fanuc IC693BEM335 Ethernet network interface module is designed for the 90-30 series Programmable Logic controllers (PLCS) and enables GE Fanuc industrial controllers to be deployed quickly and easily using the Ethernet network protocol. It operates as a factory instrumentation protocol network device at 2.5 MHz via Ethernet wiring and circuitry, and can handle greater bandwidth faster than any other industrial protocol. The GE Fanuc IC693BEM335 Ethernet network interface module allows users to exchange data between the GE Fanuc series 90-30 PLCS and a variety of different field devices, such as discrete signals from switches and sensors or analog signals from transmitters.

The 5-volt DC power supply required to power the GE Fanuc IC693BEM335 Ethernet network interface module is obtained by plugging the module into the GE Series 90-30 baseplate. This operation should be performed when the PLC is turned off, as hot swap operations are not allowed. Two 9-pin type D serial ports are located on the front of the GE Fanuc IC693BEM335 Ethernet network interface module for connecting the FIP bus or branch to the 90-30 series PLC. Another serial port with 15 pins is used to update the firmware of the module through a personal computer running GE Fanuc's proprietary configuration software. This module is not designed to power I/O devices connected to a network. Given its low IP rating (IP 20) and open construction, this GE Fanuc IC693BEM335 Ethernet network interface module should be installed inside the protection board to maximize its performance and service life.
