The IC693CBL301 is a bus expansion cable that is part of the 90-30 series product family, previously offered by GE Fanuc Automation and now part of Emerson Automation. The cable is primarily used to enable I/O expansion by interconnecting the expansion or remote backboard to the expansion port of the CPU backboard using the IC693CBL301 cable. This cable is also known as a Y-type cable with one (1) 25-pin connector at one end and one (1) male and one (1) female 25-pin connector at the other end. The IC693CBL301 has a cable length of 6 feet or 2 meters with continuous shielding. When connecting this cable, the 25-pin connector is connected to the CPU expansion port located on the far right. The male connector of the cable is connected to the 25-pin female connector located on the far left side of the extension or remote baseplate. The exposed 25-pin connector can be used to connect to another I/O bus extension for further interconnection, or to a terminal plug to close the I/O bus. A single 90-30 series system uses up to seven (7) cable instances. The maximum aggregate cable length between the CPU backboard and the last expansion backboard must not exceed 50 feet or 15 meters, or the maximum aggregate cable length between the CPU and the last remote backboard must not exceed 700 feet or 213 meters. An unterminated expansion bus or I/O bus length exceeding the recommended measurement value will cause instability in communication and I/O data exchange. The CPU 350-364 supports up to seven expansion cables, while the CPU 331-314 supports up to four expansion cables.

The IC693CBL301 cable is an I/O bus expansion cable designed and manufactured by GE Fanuc and included in the GE Series 90-30. This specific cable provides connections between different racks and cpus, thus providing uniform interconnection between different expansion ports. This particular model is also used as a Y-type cable for connecting different baseboards or racks together in a daisy-chain fashion. The structure of this cable provides continuous shielding. The GE Fanuc IC693CBL301 I/O Bus expansion cable can extend the I/O bus to an extension or remote rack in the system when additional I/O slots are required, or when different backboards need to be placed at a distance from the main CPU for design or security reasons. Among other things, this cable is used to build custom cables that can help achieve the desired length without losing effectiveness. The GE Fanuc IC693CBL301 I/O bus expansion cable is equipped with connectors at both ends. These connectors consist of a 25-pin male connector and two male/female 25-pin connectors on the other end. Both connectors are D-type connectors. To connect multiple cables, users need to first connect a single male connector on the right side of the CPU baseboard. Then to connect the second baseplate, you need to connect the male connector on the double connector end to the female pin connector on the first expansion cable. A double-ended unused female connector can be connected to a second I/O bus expansion cable or a single male connector of the I/O bus Terminator plug. The length of the GE Fanuc IC693CBL301 I/O bus expansion cable is 2 meters.
