GE Fanuc IC693CBL312 I/O Base Expansion cable is a pre-wired I/O bus expansion cable assembly for the 90-30 series I/O control systems. The cable connects the CPU backboard to the I/O expansion or remote backboard in a Daisy chain configuration. The IC693CBL312 I/O Base expansion cable is a 0.15 m (0.5 ft) long Y cable with a 25-pin D connector at one end and a double-ended (one male, one female) 25-pin D connector at the other end. The cable belongs to the I/O extension cable family, which includes cables of different lengths and continuous wire shielding. The IC693CBL312 extension cable can be replaced with a 3-foot IC693CBL300 cable, a 6-foot IC693CBL301 cable, a 25-foot IC693CBL313 cable, or a 50-foot IC693CBL302 cable.
For proper Daisy chain wiring, the single end of the IC693CBL312 I/O base expansion cable (with 25-pin D-type male) is connected to the 25-pin D-type female connector on the CPU baseboard. The 25-pin male connector on the double connector end connects to the first 25-pin female connector in the system that extends the baseboard. Another 25-pin female connector at the double end of the cable connects to the 25-pin male connector of the second I/O bus expansion cable to continue the I/O bus expansion chain. When the desired I/O extension length is reached, use the terminal plug to end the 25-pin female connector on the last I/O bus extension cable. Note that the maximum number of cables that can be connected to the I/O expansion system is 7, and the maximum acceptable distance between the CPU backboard and the last remote backboard is 213 meters (700 feet).
