GE Fanuc designs and manufactures several types of programmable coprocessor modules (PCM), one of which is the IC693PCM311 PCM, which is an additional serial communication card for the GE Fanuc family of 90-30 PLCS. Enable users to connect peripherals such as industrial printers, barcode readers, personal computers or programming interfaces to PLCS. It is designed with a total available memory capacity of 640K and dedicated MegaBasic memory capacity of 190K. On the front of the IC693PCM311 programmable coprocessor module panel, there are 3 leds. One of them shows the working status of the module (on or off) and the other two show the status of each port, but the user can also configure them to indicate another variable. PCM supports MegaBasic and C programming language.

With the GE IC693PCM311 programmable coprocessor module card, programmable logic controllers are able to receive signals from any conceivable device, as long as they are sent using serial communication protocols. Users need to configure their devices to take full advantage of this powerful co-processing tool. The installation process for the IC693PCM311 programmable coprocessor module card is simply to insert the card into any available slot on the GE Fanuc Series 90-30 PLC chassis. The only slot that cannot be used to connect this module is the first slot on the left side of the chassis, as this slot is reserved for installing the system power supply. Only properly trained technicians should perform any repair or installation work on the module.
