The IC697CMM742 is an Ethernet communication interface module that is compatible with Emerson Automation's Series 90-70 Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) family, formerly manufactured by GE Fanuc. The module supports Ethernet connectivity, allowing the host processor to perform data exchange over Ethernet. The module has a variety of communication interfaces, such as one (1) site manager (RS-232) serial port; One (1) software load (RS-485) serial port; One (1) AUI network port; One (1) 10BaseT network port and one (1) 10Base2 network port. It also comes with a restart function for re-initializing module communication. The IC697CMM742 provides connectivity by supporting various communication protocols, such as data exchange using configuration-based and logic-based Ethernet Global Data (EGD), and TCP/IP communication services using SRTP. The module also supports downloading and uploading of user programs, troubleshooting of user programs and hardware. The module can also be used to communicate with Human machine interface (HMI) and supervisory Control and Data acquisition (SCADA) networks. The IC697CMM742 is equipped with LED status indicators that can be used for local monitoring and troubleshooting of the module in the event of an error. These LED indicators include module normal, LAN online, serial activity and normal status. When powering an external AUI transceiver, the backplane current consumption of this communication module is 2.0A@5 VDC) and 0.5 Amps@12 VDC.
