Siemens and Bentley Systems today announced the launch of a strategic collaboration to advance the integration of information modeling for digital product design and manufacturing process design, as well as equipment lifecycle design. According to the Memorandum of Understanding signed by the two parties, the cooperation will help both parties to provide smart and sustainable digital factory infrastructure. Initially, the two companies will focus on digital factories in the automotive and discrete manufacturing sectors.
Building on their long-standing commitment to openness in information technology, Siemens Industrial Automation and Bentley Systems will collaborate in the areas of common file formats and content, integrated workflows for plant layout, and the combination of process and layout. This cooperation is an extension of the previous technical cooperation between the two sides. In the longer term, the two companies will open up further opportunities for jointly developed technologies to expand industry-focused solutions and further enhance interoperability between Siemens' Teamcenter software and Bentley's ProjectWise software.
Teamcenter product lifecycle management software helps organizations maximize productivity and optimize global operations while developing increasingly complex products. From product planning and development to manufacturing and support services, it provides accurate information to help users make the right product decisions. The ProjectWise collaboration server and service system facilitates work sharing, AIDS the application of virtual assets, improves project quality through dynamic review, and increases value through content reuse.
