December 12, 2012 -- Emerson Network Power is part of the Emerson Corporation (NYSE: A Business unit of EMR, the company that has been a global leader in business-critical ContinuityTM technology, announced the launch of two three-output open rack AC/DC power supplies, models NPT43-M and NPT44-M. These are the two latest products in Emerson Network Power's popular NPT40-M family, which are designed for use in many different applications, including information technology equipment, medical devices, light industrial products, instrumentation and process systems, as well as low-power dental surgery equipment and laboratory instruments.
If the NPT40-M series power supply uses convection heat dissipation, its rated power output can reach 45W; If the forced air cooling method is used for heat dissipation, its output power can be up to 55W. NPT43-M has three different regulated outputs such as 5V, 15V and -15V (DC), while NPT44-M has three different regulated outputs such as 5V, 12V and 24V (DC).
New models of the NPT40-M series have successfully obtained product safety certifications from several recognized bodies and medical organizations around the world, and they are used in a wide range of applications, including information technology equipment (ITE) and critical medical equipment that is not in direct contact with patients or is not life-threatening. Both power supplies can operate at a temperature range of -20 to 50 degrees Celsius when operating at full power, and up to 80 degrees Celsius when operating at derated capacity. Both power supplies are only 2 x 4 inches (51 x 102mm) in size and no more than 1 inch (25mm) in height, which is the industry standard size and therefore best suited for portable and rack mounted devices up to 1U tall.

Emerson Network Power's NPT40-M power supply offers a wide range of input voltages for AC inputs ranging from 90V to 264V, as well as DC inputs ranging from 127V to 300V, so it can be used anywhere in the world. NPT42-M power supply only needs to not exceed 74W input power, if the input AC voltage is 230V, its surge current will not exceed 50A (peak).
Emerson Network Power's NPT40-M series of power supplies are fully compliant with the international standard EN 61000-3-2 for harmonic interference. This series of products in addition to the built-in anti-electromagnetic interference filter in line with the CISPR 22 Class B standard, but also in line with a number of international standards on electromagnetic compatibility strict provisions, These include Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Class B, EN 55022 Class B, and VDE 0878PT3 Class B standards for conducted noise. The power supply is also particularly protected in several important places, for example, the live and neutral lines each have their own fuses, and the ground leakage for safe operation does not exceed 275µA. In addition, the power supply series meets several product safety certification standards, including TUV/UL/CSA 60950 and 60601-1, CB certification, CE Mark (LVD) and CQC Mark.
The Emerson Network Power NPT40-M series of power supply products have a comprehensive set of protective devices to prevent short circuits, including the main output is specially designed to prevent overvoltage, and the monitoring system closely monitors the primary power to prevent power overload. Experiments have shown that the mean time to failure (MTBF) of this series of power supplies can reach 550,000 hours when operating at full load and 25 degrees Celsius.
