The IC200MDL640 discrete input module is a GE Fanuc 24-volt DC positive/negative logic input module with 16 input points in the Versamax family. The 16 inputs are divided into 2 groups. The input can have positive or negative logic. The positive input receives the current from the input device, and the negative input sends the current to the input device. The input device can be connected between the common terminal and the input terminal. The midplane supplies power for module operation. The backplane has a rated current consumption of up to 25 mA at 5 V output. The IC200MDL640 discrete input module has a CPU or NIU to perform the processing functions on it.
The IC200MDL640 discrete input module has one LED indicator at each point. It does not require any heat derating or external power supply.

The input response time of a module is a configurable parameter that can be easily configured. Configurable filtering times include a minimum of 0 ms, a default of 1.0 ms, and a maximum of 7.0 ms. The input voltage of the module is 0 to 30 volts DC and 24 volts DC nominal values. It has an on-state voltage of 15 to 30 volts DC and an off-state voltage of 0 to 5 volts DC. The input has a basic on/off response time of 0.5 ms. It is recommended that users use a short circuit bar with B terminal to lay out additional bus terminals during field wiring. The IC200MDL640 discrete input module supports hot insertion. However, extra care must be taken during installation to avoid backplane disruption.
