The VMIVME-M-485 module is designed as one of two units in the VMIC long Line Repeater Link subfamily. These models consist of two boards: one is the VMIVME-Repeat-S-485 model, and the other is this board. These boards are connected in series and are called such boards because they are associated with the main VMEbus chassis and the slave VMEbus chassis.
The VMIVME-M-485 unit is also designed to accommodate dual Eurocard form factor modules and is capable of supporting 16-bit and 24-bit addressing, as well as 8-bit and 16-bit data transmission.
It fully supports all seven available interrupt levels. A 5-foot-long cable was connected, and the propagation delay was about 400 nanoseconds. For longer cables connected, there is an additional 4 nanoseconds per foot.
The ambient temperature range of the device is between 0 and 55 degrees Celsius during operation, and between -20 and 85 degrees Celsius when the storage is interrupted.
