When the VPRO model is used with the TREG board, the I/O signal types include power-saving relays, scram inputs, trip interlock inputs, and trip solenoid valve drivers. Each processor also has a certain amount of I/O. For example, each available TREG board has seven trip interlock inputs and three trip solenoid valve drivers. Note that when the IS215VPROH2BC model is running as a turbo emergency trip processor board, it is also capable of connecting to the TPRO terminal board via an Ethernet cable.
When the IS215VPROH2BC board is used for protection module applications, the main purpose is to ensure that the selected turbine does not experience any type of overspeed. The important thing to note when working with this model is that it will always be triple redundant and will have three completely separate and independent parts, named X, Y, and Z. The model is able to shut down one part of the turbine while it is running without compromising the protection system.
The VPROH2B IS215VPROH2BC provides not only emergency overspeed protection, but also an emergency stop function.
It manages the TREG's 12 relays, nine of which are divided into three groups of three, and operates three trip solenoid valves via voting inputs, enhancing the system's redundancy and reliability.
Speed control and detection:Speed control and overspeed protection with six passive magnetic speed sensors. The controller focuses on the first three sensors, using the median signal for speed control and primary overspeed protection.
The R8, S8 and T8 VPRO boards in the protection module are connected to the latter three sensors, respectively, for backup and additional protection.
