Hybrid fail-safe module
Historically, security IO and normal IO at customer sites have been configured independently, resulting in the possibility of unused ports on each IO module. Turck's hybrid fail-safe module, a fieldbus product that integrates both safety IO and standard IO into the same module, supports up to IP69K protection, allowing it to be mounted directly on the device surface without the need for cabinet protection.
The hybrid fail-safe module combines standard and safety outputs in a single device and can be flexibly adapted to the actual signal requirements of the machine or used as a remote safety controller. Safety features can also be configured and tested without connecting to a safety PLC. Due to the protection level of IP65/IP67/IP69K, it can be used in harsh environments.
On the safety side, the fieldbus hybrid module provides two safety inputs for connecting safety sensors such as light curtains or emergency stop buttons. Two additional secure channels can be used as input or output. The four channels used to connect non-safety related signals can connect input/output signals.
