IC660BBA101 RTD module I/O supports RTD sensors such as platinum, copper, and nickel RTDS. Linearization and signal conditioning are embedded in RTD module I/O and transmitted in engineering units to the central processing unit (CPU). It is reported in tenths of a degree Celsius, degrees Fahrenheit, ohms, or counts. In addition, the IC660BBA101 RTD block I/O is capable of configuring alarm thresholds, Alpha types, and input filtering times. This RTD Block I/O is factory calibrated so that recalibration is not required during device operation.

The IC660BBA101 is also equipped with various diagnostic functions such as input short circuit detection, internal fault detection, wiring error detection, open circuit detection, over - and under-range input indications, and high - and low-input alerts. Each channel can automatically report or disable the occurrence of faults.

The IC660BBA101 has a resolution of 0.1 °C with an absolute accuracy of +/-0.5 °C (typical value), a maximum of +/-1.0°C for platinum or nickel, and a maximum of 10W copper (typical value) +/-5°C (typical value) with a maximum of +/-10°C. It has a software-configurable update frequency of every 400 ms, 800 ms, or 1600 ms, and an input filter range of 400 ms, 800 ms, 1600 ms for each block.

The IC660BBA101 RTD input block has 2 leds to indicate the operating status of the module, so when a fault occurs, the normal LED of the device begins to blink. The IC660BBA101 RTD input module features automatic diagnostics for installation errors and runtime errors, such as internal fault detection, open circuit detection, and high-low input alerts. For example, if one or more input readings are out of tolerance, the internal fault detection tool notifies the CPU. It also provides low and high alarm thresholds to set limits for specific input channels. The module measures 8.83 x 3.34 x 3.91 inches and weighs 4 pounds. In order to use the input device, the RTD must be connected to the RTN and SIG terminals of the input device. The handheld monitor allows users to configure parameters such as active channels, fault reporting, input filtering times, and engineering unit parameters. Inside the block, there is a parcoupler that separates the clock signal from the control signal. The IC660BBA101 RTD input module can be mounted upside down, leaving 2 inches of space on all sides for proper cooling.
