The IC660BBD120 is a high-speed counter module that is part of Genius Block IO and can be used as a component of the distributed I/O architecture. The module was previously part of the GE Fanuc Automation product catalog and is currently owned by Emerson Automation. Despite the brand changes, the functions and features of the module remain the same. The characteristic module has twelve (12) 5V DC to 30V DC inputs accepting frequencies up to 200 kHz and four (4) 4.75V DC to 5.25V DC with 200mA outputs, Designed for turbine flow meters, instrument inspection, speed measurement, material handling and motion control applications. The module has an open housing. It must be installed inside the housing to provide adequate protection against industrial contaminants. In addition, it has a compact rackless design consisting of two (2) components, which are the terminal base assembly with part number IC660TBD120 and the electronic assembly with catalog number IC660EBD120. These modular features allow modules to be serviced without the need to remove exciting wire connections. The module's rackless design allows it to operate and communicate with partner equipment without the need for a copper backplate. It can be mounted on a shell panel secured through the provided mounting holes. It can connect directly to the existing Genius I/O network because the module provides terminals for connecting the aforementioned protocols. It also comes with a Handheld Monitor (HHM) port for connecting HHM devices.

The IC660BBD120 block is designed and manufactured in GE Fanuc's Genius I-O product line. This block is a high-speed counter block. It directly processes fast pulse signals with rated frequencies up to 200 kHz. This makes the IC660BBD120 high speed counter module suitable for industrial applications such as motion control, material handling, instrument proof, turbine flow meters and speed measurement applications. Some of the most unique features of this counter module include battery backup support, output power surge protection, software configuration, 12 inputs, 4 outputs, an oscillator output, and a 5 volt DC rated output. The IC660BBD120 high-speed counter module can be configured to count in different ways. It can be configured to count only, count only, count up and down, or count the difference between 2 changing values. The GE Fanuc Genius I-O IC660BBD120 high-speed counter block supports direct processing, which means that the high-speed counter block does not need to communicate with the CPU to sense the input, perform its counting function, and respond with the appropriate output. The high-speed counter module can handle inrush currents of up to 3 amps per output for up to 10 milliseconds. It can operate at temperatures from 32 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit and be stored at temperatures from -40 to 212 degrees Fahrenheit. It can withstand non-condensing humidity levels between 5% and 95% in operation and storage. The IC660BBD120 high-speed counter module can handle applications with 1, 2 or 4 different counters and varying levels of complexity.
