The IC660BBS102 is a Genius Block I/o manufactured by Emerson Automation. The module primarily features eight (8) circuits divided into four isolation groups of two channels each that can be configured to be compatible with inputs or outputs of 115 VAC and 125 VDC voltages. The Block I/O module supports the Genius I/O protocol, enabling the ability to communicate directly over the Genius bus protocol. The IC660BBS102 is capable of detecting failed switch diagnostics by comparing the output commands of the module with the state on the built-in internal switch to the state of the Block I/O device. This Block I/O supports redundant processors and is able to maintain the final state, output pulse test function, and output power power-on default values. The IC660BBS102 also supports accepting restart commands from a handheld monitor or host controller. It is also equipped with diagnostic functions, such as overheat open circuit when configured for three-state input; Detect I/O power loss on pairs of circuits; Overload detection, shutdown and no-load detection. The IC660BBS102 measures 8.83 inches (22.44 cm) x 3.34 inches (8.48 cm) x 3.91 inches (9.93 cm) and weighs about 4 pounds (1.8 kg). It has built-in LED status indicators enabling Unit OK and I/O and circuit leds on the logic side of the switch. It is designed for panel mounting and supports right side up or upside down orientation. Due to its support for the Genius I/O protocol, the IC660BBS102 can be connected in a multipoint or Daisy chain topology, where it can also connect to a network of devices that support Genius I/O.

The functions of the IC660BBS102 output module include AC or DC circuit voltage, output pulse test capability, CPU redundancy and bus switching module control. Each output circuit is integrated with an electronic fuse, and the short-circuited output circuit is closed within 5 microseconds after the short-circuit occurs to protect the block. The IC660BBS102 output block can be restarted from the CPU or handheld display. The IC660BBS102 output block weighs 4 pounds and measures 8.8 x 3.3 x 3.9 inches.
