The GE Fanuc IC660BCM501 device is a battery charger that comes with the GE IC660HHM501 handheld display. The IC660BCM501 battery charger is used to charge the battery pack, which is also supplied with the handheld monitor. The IC660BCM501 battery charger can operate at either 115 volts AC or 230 volts AC. Before plugging the charger into AC power to operate the handheld display or charge the handheld display, the switch on the bottom of the IC660BCM501 battery charger must be set to match the input voltage level (115 or 230 volts AC). The handheld monitor can run when connected to the charger. The handheld monitor can be operated by drawing power from an internal battery or an external AC power source. In either case, the battery must always be installed in the device, otherwise the device will not function.
If the internal battery is new or fully discharged due to battery power, you must charge the battery for at least 15 minutes before you can use the handheld monitor. If temporary operation needs to be resumed before charging is complete, the charger cable must be plugged into the handheld display and the battery must be charged for 15 minutes before the handheld display is powered on. It may also be necessary to remove the internal battery pack for 15 to 20 seconds and then reinstall it. Continuous operation of a handheld monitor using AC power will cause the internal battery to age. After 2 years of AC operation, the internal battery may not hold enough power to run the handheld display independently. However, the handheld monitor can still be used for AC operation.
