The GE Fanuc IC693APU305 processor module is designed as a standalone I/O processor module capable of receiving information from a field device connected to its input, processing that information according to a user-defined instruction set, and then producing an output signal to modify the behavior of controlled variables without the need for a separate central processing unit (CPU). Complex motion control applications such as speed measurement, bulk material processing, product packaging, labeling and marking applications can be decentralized by using a stand-alone GE Fanuc IC693APU305 I/O processor module. These input and output processors are excellent tools that help users streamline industrial processes that rely on fast response devices to efficiently deliver expected throughput.

It can be easily installed by plugging the GE Fanuc IC693APU305 I/O processor module into any of the available slots on the GE Fanuc Series 90-30 programmable logic controller or PLC backplane. The I/O module draws 5 volts of DC supply voltage from the backplane, but it does not power field devices connected to its I/O, so they must be powered by a separate power supply. The GE Fanuc IC693APU305 I/O processor module can monitor up to 12 inputs, and the module will respond to the needs of the system by protecting the output with its eight fuses. TTL pulse signals (off: 0 V DC, on: 5 V DC) or 10 to 30 V DC pulse signals can be connected to the module input. Both input and output wiring are connected to the module using detachable terminal plates.
