The IC693CMM321 is an Ethernet interface module that is part of the 90-30 series Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) platform. Manufactured by GE Fanuc Automation, the module is primarily used to connect the 90-30 series baseboards directly to existing Ethernet networks. To enable distributed I/O or to allow cpus and communication adapters to communicate with remote sites, human machine interfaces (HMI), supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA), and distributed control systems (DCS).
The IC693CMM321 has a variety of communication capabilities and can perform different tasks. The module has one (1) RS-232, RJ-11 serial port as a site manager port, one (1) RS-485, 15-pin, Type D serial port as a software loading port, and one (1) AAUI port as a network port for connecting the module to an Ethernet network. The module is also equipped with LED indicators that allow users to monitor the operation of each port and an overview of module status. These indicators are OK, LAN, SER, and STAT. The LED indicator describes the status of the Interface, the existing traffic on the transceiver port and the Downloader port, respectively, and whether there are abnormal events.
The IC693CMM321 is ideal for use with CPU version 6.50 or later for full functionality. It can still be used with CPU versions 5.03 to 6.04, however, Ethernet operation is limited to one (1) SRTP server connection. For configuration, various programming software can be used, such as Logicmaster 90-30 version 6.01 or later, Control version 2.01 or later, or VersaPro version 1.0 or later. All of these software applications are installed on the computer.
GE Fanuc Series 90-30 IC693CMM321 Ethernet Interface TCP/IP modules can diagnose and maintain PLC systems, initiate data transfer from PLC to other devices, communicate with multiple devices simultaneously, and support up to 16 server connections. One or two Ethernet interface TCP/IP modules can be installed on any type of GE series 90-30 substrate at a time, but these modules are not compatible with GE handheld programmers for the 90-30/20/Micro series product line.
