The GE Fanuc IC693CMMAAUI cable is an Ethernet transceiver cable for the GE IC693CMM321 Ethernet module. The IC693CMM321 cable provides an interface that allows users to connect their 90-30 series PLCS to Ethernet via an external transceiver and IC693CMMAAUI cable. The IC693CMMAAUI cable allows the PLC to communicate with other devices and hosts on the Ethernet network. The Ethernet interface provides client and server functions. In client mode, the interface can initiate communication with other hosts on the Ethernet network. This is performed from the COMMREQ function block of the ladder diagram program. In server mode, the interface is programmed to respond to requests from other hosts acting as clients or using the Host Communication Toolkit software.
The Ethernet interface on the PLC can connect the PLC directly to an Ethernet-based network, transmit data with other devices, communicate with multiple devices and up to 16 servers simultaneously, communicate with equipment from other vendors, and use diagnostic tools for system maintenance. The Ethernet interface cannot be used to connect 90-30, 20, or micro handheld programmers. Up to two Ethernet modules can be installed in a 90-30 series baseplate. The following four status leds are provided on the Ethernet interface: OK, SER, LAN, and STAT leds. The restart button on the module can be used to perform the following 4 functions: LED test, restart and reload, restart and restart and access to maintenance facilities. The restart button cannot be used when the front cover of the module is closed. The Ethernet module also has 2 serial ports. The RS-232 Station Manager port can be used to connect terminal emulators or terminals to an Ethernet interface, and the RS-485 firmware upgrade port can be used to upgrade module software.
