The IC693CPU360 is a programmable logic controller (PLC) module of the GE Fanuc 90-30 series. The module is essentially a central processing unit (CPU) module whose main function is to execute downloaded user programs into the module's 240KB of user memory. The processor is equipped with an 80386EX microprocessor with a processor speed of 25 megahertz and a typical sweep rate of 0.22 milliseconds per 1K logic for Boolean contacts.
This CPU module does not come with a communication port, however, for programming and communication purposes, an RS485 communication port located on the power module can be used. This port can be accessed by opening the swinging door of the power module located on the far left side of the baseplate.
The IC693CPU360 is capable of controlling up to eight (8) baseboards. These backboards include a local rack that houses the CPU ins and seven (7) backboards that are used for distributed or remote I/O system I/O. The IC693CPU360 is a single-slot CPU with a backplane current consumption of 670 mA and a +5 VDC power supply.
The CPU has a total memory of 240K bytes, with up to 2048 discrete inputs, 2048 discrete outputs, 1280 discrete global memory, 4096 internal coils, and 256-bit temporary outputs. The controller supports random access memory (RAM) and flash storage devices.
The controller can be configured using a variety of programming software applications. This includes LogicMaster90, Control, VersaPro, and CIMPLICITY Machine Edition Logic Developer. It also supports programming using a traditional handheld programmer (HHP).
The current consumption of the IC693CPU360 module is 670 mA at 5 volts DC. The CPU clock speed is 25 MHZ. The IC693CPU360 module occupies one slot in the 8-slot baseboard. For 1K logic (Boolean contacts), the typical scan rate is 0.22 ms. Starting with version 9 firmware, Logicmaster has a register memory range of 128 to 16,384 words in increments of 128 words, and Control Version 2.2 has a register memory range of 128 to 32,640 words. For firmware versions prior to version 9, the register memory size is fixed at 9999 words. The IC693CPU360 module supports timers and counters numbered over 2000. The CPU module comes with an integrated serial port that uses a connector on the PLC power supply.
