The IC693MDL655 is a high-density digital input module that is part of Emerson Automation's Series 90-30 Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) platform. The input module is designed to be installed on any 90-30 series backboard, whether CPU backboard, I/O expansion backboard, or remote I/O backboard. It is installed directly on any available I/O slot in a 5-slot or 10-slot baseplate and occupies only a single SOT. In addition, the module is compatible with embedded 90-30 cpus and modular 90-30 cpus. As a high-density input module, it has thirty-two (32) input points, divided into four (4) groups of eight (8) inputs. Each channel is compatible with connected on/off type devices operating at a voltage signal range of 0-30 VDC and a nominal voltage of 24 VDC. Typical on/off devices used with this module are limit switches, level switches, proximity switches, auxiliary contacts, push button devices, and other devices for similar operations. Unlike other digital input modules, the IC693MDL655 uses two (2) 24-pin male connectors with the order number Fujitsu FCN-365P024-AU. It is pre-installed on the front panel of the module and interfaces with input groups A, B, C and D. This requires the use of a pre-wired cable purchased separately. Compatible pre-wired cables are IC693CBL327 and IC693CBL328. In addition, this cable can be customized. The IC693MDL655 is also equipped with an LED status indicator with a group identifier. The LED indicator is labeled A1-A8 (Group 1); B1-B8 (Group 2); C1-C8 (Group 3) and D1-D8 (Group 4).
The IC693MDL655 module is a 24 volt DC input module. The module has either positive or negative logic and comes with 32 input points divided into 4 groups of 8 inputs each. The input voltage range of the IC693MDL655 module is 0 to 30 volts DC. The isolation rating between the field side and the logical side is 1500 V. At 24 V DC, the input current rate is 7.0 mA for a typical conduction current. The on-voltage is 11.5 to 30 volts DC, while the off voltage is 0 to 5 volts DC. The on/off response time is expressed as a maximum of 2 milliseconds. The backplane isolation of the IC693MDL655 module between the magnetic field side and the logical side is provided by the OptoCoupler on the module. The connection to the IC693MDL655 module input circuit is connected from the user's input device to two 24-pin male connectors mounted on the front of the module. External input devices include proximity sensors, buttons, and BCD finger wheels.
