The IC697BEM733 is a communication interface module in the 90-7 series Programmable Logic controller (PLC) family, formerly manufactured by GE Fanuc and now owned by Emerson Automation. This module is specifically designed for remote I/O scanners and is mainly used to implement distributed I/O architectures. The module allows the installation of remote I/O stations that can be located up to 7,500 feet or 2,275 meters from the host controller. It can be configured to handle any combination of discrete I/O and analog I/O with a maximum number of 1024 discrete inputs, 1024 discrete outputs, 64 analog input words, and 64 analog output words. A remote I/O station communicating with the IC697BEM733 remote I/O scanner module may contain instances of the IC697 discrete module, analog module, and analog extender module. Bus transmitter, bus receiver, PCM and ADS modules. It is recommended to use this module with the IC697 module, however, the IC66* module, third-party PLCS and computers with remote I/O communication cards installed can be used with the IC697BEM733 module. The IC697BEM733 features a 15-pin RS-422/485 compatible serial port and one (1) 9-pin IC66* handheld monitoring port. It also has a dedicated IC66* bus terminal module that supports redundancy. The module is compatible with handheld displays of 4.0 or higher with the directory number IC660HHM501G; CPU firmware version 2.0 or higher, MS-DOS programming software version 3.0 or higher, bus controller version 3.0 or higher (if used with IC697 PLC module); CPU version 105 or higher, MS-DOS programming software version 4.02 or higher, bus controller with directory number IC660CBB902 or 903 (if used with IC600 PLC system) must be version 1.7 or higher; CPU version 4.0 or later, MS-DOS programming software version 2.01 or later, any version of bus controller (if used with IC655 PLC). For computer communication, it must be installed with a PCIM or QBIM card.

Although the IC697BEM733 module is designed for IC697 systems, it is also compatible with every IC66 host. This includes IC660 programmable logic controllers, IC655 programmable logic controllers, and hosts equipped with Personal Computer interface modules (PCIM), Q Bus interface modules (QBIM), or other GENI based third-party interfaces.
