The GE Fanuc IC697BEM734 IC660/IC661 bus controller is a single-channel I/O bus controller for GE IC66 bus systems. The IC697BEM734 bus controller occupies only one slot in the GE IC66 PLC rack and is configured with Windows (MS-DOS) -based programming software. The IC697BEM734 bus controller asynchronously scans the IC66 (IC660 or IC661) I/O module and transfers the I/O data to the PLC CPU after each iterative scan of the IC697 PLC backplane. During the scan, the IC697BEM734 bus controller accepts any fault information from the PLC CPU diagnostic reference at each completion of the scan and transfers the ladder logic command from the CPU to the connected field device. Communication options supported by this module include global communication, directed communication initiated by a PLC CPU communication service request, and point-to-point IC666 bus data transfer (which acts as a communication node for other devices).
