The IC697CMM711 is a communications coprocessor module included in the 90-70 series Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) product line. The component is a single-slot module that supports CCM, MODBUS RTU, and SNP protocols, allowing I/O data exchange over multipoint communication networks. Specifically, the module supports SNP/SNP-X protocols (master, slave), CCM protocols (master, slave, peer), and RTU Modbus protocols (slave only). Possible port combinations include CCM/CCM, CCM/RTU, RTU/CCM, RTU/RTU, SNP/SNP, SNP/CCM, SNP/RTU, and RTU/SNP. The IC697CMM711 was previously manufactured by GE Fanuc Automation and is not affiliated with Emerson Automation. It is equipped with a dedicated 12 Mhz 80C186 microprocessor. Configuration is done via MS-DOS or Windows programming software, such as Logicmaster 90-70, VersaPro Pro, and Proficy Machine Edition Logic Developer PLC Pro. IC697CMM711 Interface The port is a 25-pin D-shell connector that can be configured separately. It also provides three (3) LED status indicators, such as module Normal, Port 1, and Port 2, and a pushbutton switch for re-initializing module communication. This module does not require a battery and operation is determined by the configuration of the downloaded software. Configure without setting switches or jumpers. Supported communication speeds include 300, 600, 1200, 240, 4800, 9600, and 19200 baud rates. When installing the IC697CMM711, disconnect the power supply from the baseplate. This prevents damage to the module itself and nearby electronic components due to arcing. The backplane current consumption of the module is 700 mA at 5VDC bus voltage, which is compatible with VME standard C.1.
GE Fanuc's IC697CMM711 module is an industrial communications coprocessor module, also known as CCM. It is part of the GE Fanuc 90-70 series of programmable logic controller or PLC components and accessories line. IC697CMM711 communication coprocessor module can support the communication protocols of master, slave, peer CCM protocol, master slave SNP and SNPX protocol, slave RTU Modbus communication protocol. The module comes with a slot and a button for reset. It doesn't need batteries. The IC697CMM711 module does not require jumpers or switches to configure. Instead, it can be configured using the soft switch configuration method. The communication coprocessor module comes with two serial ports, which can be RS-232 or RS-422/RS-485 serial ports. The GE Fanuc 90-70 series IC697CMM711 communication coprocessor module uses an 80C186 microprocessor and runs at 12 Mhz. Multiple communication coprocessor modules can be installed in a single programmable logic controller system to maximize the communication options of the controller system. The IC697CMM711 module and all other CCMS in the PLC system communicate with the PLC's CPU via a backplane. There are 3 leds on this module. One of the leds shows the current status of the module, while the other 2 leds show the activity of the 2 serial ports of the module. Port leds are labeled as port 1 leds and port 2 leds. The module can be installed in a rack and can only be installed when the rack power supply is disconnected.
