The Model 9907-147 uses magnetic pickups to monitor primer speed under overspeed conditions. Devices in this family are susceptible to electromagnetic interference, vibration, moisture, and temperatures outside the operating temperature range - 25 to +60 °C (- 13 to +140 °F). The ProTech overspeed protection model should be installed in a place with sufficient ventilation, spacious maintenance space, direct sunlight, and high current or high voltage equipment.
The power-off trip system has a speed sensing frequency range of 100 Hz to 32 kHz and an accuracy class of ± (0.05% x trip point, Hz +2 Hz). The overspeed detection function is performed by three independent speed sensing units that operate independently to monitor speed and perform speed calculations. These three units are in a two-thirds voting configuration, so prime mover trip relays occur only when at least two units detect overspeed conditions.
The ProTech overspeed protection model 9907-147 has a jump point frequency range of 250 Hz to 25 kHz. Use the operator interface to program trip setpoints individually for each unit (which must be programmed in the same way for accurate output).

Each speed sensing unit has an interface. Everyone has:
Two-line x 16-character LCD display
touchpad
potentiometer
LED indicator
Alarm output
Programming and testing functions are locked to prevent unauthorized changes. A one-touch switch for moving between MONITOR mode and PROGRAM mode is connected to all three units.
