The CI871A is an AC80OM communication interface connected to PROFINET IO devices over Ethernet. The TP867 Baseplate has two RJ45 Ethernet connectors, but only the CH1 connector that supports 100Mbps is used for PROFINET IO connections. The Ethernet cable must be connected to the PROFINET IO network through an Ethernet switch.
The Cl871 expansion unit contains the CEX bus logic, communication unit, and DC/DC converter to provide the required voltage +24 V over the CEX bus.
