The 1756-L73 is the ControlLogix 5570 controller from Allen-Bradley. This is a programmable automation controller (PAC) that can control large applications or process automation applications in the factory. It supports simplex configuration and high availability (redundant) controller configuration to improve system availability.
The controller can connect 128,000 input and output signals and 4,000 analog input and output signals. It can enable a local I/O configuration, where the I/O module is installed in the same chassis where the controller is installed, or a distributed I/O topology, where the extended I/O is installed away from the processor and provides I/O over an extended communication bus.
The controller supports Ethernet I/P, DeviceNet, ControlNet, Synchlink, and traditional communication protocols such as Data Highway Plus (DH+), Remote I/O (RIO), and third-party protocols. It can also be configured to communicate with gateways and protocol converters.
