FBM231 Redundant Field Device System Integrator (FDSI) module Dual port field I/O device and EcoStruxure TM serial interface between FoxboroTM DCS system.
A pair of FBM231 modules are combined to provide a redundancy (FBM) level on the fieldbus module, and when field wired to two terminal components (see Figure 1) are configured, one FBM231 is the Master module and the other is the Tracker module. The points on the input control station received from the device input are connected to the Master's network. The device output point, depending on the IO driver, is co-written by the Master and Tracker modules. Role switching is automatic

The FBM231 has four ports - each of which can be configured individually in the RS software with 232, RS422 or RS 485.
