The HIMA F3231 is a safety controller module designed for safety-critical applications.

The F3231 has a number of features that make it suitable for safety-critical applications, including:

Dual-channel architecture: The F3231 has two independent processing channels that perform the same calculations and compare their results. This redundancy helps ensure that the module continues to operate even if one channel fails.
Self-diagnosis: The F3231 continuously monitors its own operation and detects any faults that may affect its safety performance.
Fail-safe output: The output of the F3231 is designed to not reach a safe state in the event of a failure.

The controller is equipped with 8 digital outputs. The state of each output (HIGH, LOW) is signaled by a single LED at the highest ambient temperature, each output 1... Three and five... Both 7 can load 0.5 A, and outputs 4 and 8 can load 1 A or 2 A at ambient temperatures up to 50 °C. If an overload occurs, one or all outputs are turned off. If the overload is removed, the output will automatically open again, as shown in Table 28. The external wire of the output is not monitored, however, a short circuit detected will emit a signal.
