Each P0972KX module has a single 10/100Mbps copper Ethernet connection and an RJ-45 module in front of the connector for dry connections to dual-ended Ethernet devices. The P0972KX is connected to an Ethernet switch or hub in order to communicate with one or more 64 external devices, a pair of modules combined to provide redundant fieldbus module (FBM) levels. In this configuration, one P0972KX is the Master and the other is the trace module.
