The GE Fanuc Series 90-30 Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) module, catalog number IC693ALG223, is a sixteen (16) channel, single-ended, analog input module for connecting field devices and instruments that provide analog signals as representations of process variable measurements. Specifically, each channel of IC693ALG223 can be configured to receive 0-20 mA, 4-20 mA, and 4-20 mA enhanced signals. Some devices capable of providing these signals are transmitters, variable frequency drivers (VFD) speed feedbacks, data loggers, panel meters, and other devices.

The IC693ALG223 is a single slot module that can be installed in any of the 5-slot or 10-slot baseboards of the 90-30 series. The number of IC693ALG223 instances allowed varies depending on the controller you install. For Type 311, Type 313, and Type 323 systems, up to four (4) module instances are compatible. For Type 331 systems, there are eight (8) modules, Type 340 and Type 341 systems have twelve (12) modules, and Type 351 and Type 352 systems have 51 modules.

The IC693ALG223 has a 12-bit resolution with an update rate of 13 ms for all 16 channels and an absolute accuracy of ± 0.25% at full scale @ 25 degrees Celsius (77 degrees Fahrenheit) : Full scale of ± 0.5% in the specified operating temperature range, linearity of 4 to 20 mA is < 1 LSB in the 4 to 20 mA range, linearity of 0 to 20 mA and linearity of < 1 LSB in the 4 to 20 mA range, Linearity of 100 μA to 20 mA and 4 to 20 mA is in the range of 1 LSB enhancement. The module is designed with a 1500 volt isolation capacity between the field side and the logical side.
