The GE Fanuc IC693BEM321 I/O Link Master module card is a serial interface card that links inputs received from up to 16 slave modules to the GE Fanuc Series 90-30 PLC system, acting as a gateway between these slave modules and the system CPU. Digital inputs up to 1K (1024) can be received in a single GE Fanuc IC693BEM321 I/O Link master module card, producing a 1K digital output to transmit a command response to a field actuator. The configuration of the interface card is done via a handheld GE Fanuc programmer or using proprietary software.
Like most of GE Fanuc's accessory modules, the IC693BEM321 I/O Link master module card can be inserted into any available slot on GE Fanuc PLC's 90-30 and 90-70 series product lines. Up to six main modules can be inserted into the GE Fanuc PLC baseboard at the same time, each of which represents an independent I/O link to control a specific sector or part. The 5-volt DC power supply of the GE Fanuc IC693BEM321 I/O Link main module card is directly connected from the mainboard. The field devices connected in the link must be independently powered. Serial communication protocols RS-422 and RS-485 are supported, using the same 20-pin Honda socket located on the front of the module. Three status leds reflect the operating status of the I/O Link interface card. The reset button in the module will open and close the entire link when pressed, which is used to clear any faults present in the system.
