The IC693PCM301 is a programmable coprocessor module (PCM) designed to be compatible with the Series 90-30 Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) product family previously manufactured by GE Fanuc Automation Bus and recently acquired by Emerson Automation. The PCM module supports Modbus and GE Fanuc's CCM protocol through an integrated single 25-pin port, which is essentially a two (2) port interface. The IC693PCM301 supports the extension of processor capabilities to host controllers, specifically allowing 90-30 series controllers to execute non-native r third-party applications via PCM. Such applications include basic programming languages (BAS) for developing custom executables for implementing supervisory control and Data acquisition (SCADA) systems. In addition, the IC693PCM301 also supports data exchange between programming terminals, CRTS, barcode readers, scales, printers, ASCII devices, and remote Terminal Unit (RTU) master devices. The IC693PCM301 is installed only on the CPU mainboard, except for slot CPU/1 reserved for the CPU. In addition, the module is not compatible for installation in an extension or remote rack, nor is it compatible with CPU models such as CPU 311, 313, and 323. The module is equipped with indicators, in particular the module OK indicator, US1 and US2 LED indicators, to indicate the operation of the two (2) serial ports installed internally. The module also provides a restart button to initialize the module without restarting the entire rack or using software. The IC693PCM301 has a total memory of 192 KB, of which 47KB is allocated to the Megabasic memory.
The GE Fanuc high performance IC693PCM301 Programmable Coprocessor module (PCM) is designed and manufactured to provide additional processing power to the GE Fanuc family of 90-30 programmable logic controllers or PLCS. The PCM is a separate module that can be inserted into any slot in the 90-30 series PLC backboard, except the first slot, which can only be occupied by the power supply of the entire PLC system. Once the PLC receives the addition of the IC693PCM301 programmable coprocessor module or PCM, it will be able to communicate with peripheral devices, such as serial programming terminals, computer monitors with serial communication ports, bar code readers, personal computers, electronic scales, serial printers, ASCII devices, etc. It even communicates with remote terminal units configured as master devices. The GE Fanuc IC693PCM301 Programmable Coprocessor module (PCM) can be configured using a variety of protocols, such as the GE Fanuc CCM protocol, MegaBasic protocol, Modbus RTU protocol, and C programming language protocol. The total memory available on the PCM is 192K, of which 47K is dedicated to MegaBasic applications. The GE Fanuc IC693PCM301 programmable coprocessor module has 2 serial ports that can be programmed to act as communication ports or MegaBasic connection points. There are also three LED lights on the front of the device, which indicate the current operating status of the PCM and its two ports. Another important thing to consider is the PCM's internal lithium battery, which enables the module to retain the information the user has stored in it for a long period of time in the event of a major power outage.
