The GE Fanuc IC697CPU789 module is a 32-bit scalable central processing unit (CPU) for IC66 TMR (Triple Modular Redundancy) systems. The single-slot IC697CPU789 module supports 512 KB of battery-powered extended memory in the same slot. Out of 512 KB of memory, up to 200 KB is available for the user's applications and data. The IC697CPU789 module supports up to 12,000 arbitrarily mixed discrete inputs/outputs, 2048 voting discrete inputs, and 2048 voting discrete outputs in simplex mode. The module also supports 8000 analog inputs in simplex mode, 8000 analog outputs in simplex mode, and 1024 analog voting inputs. The IC697CPU789 module has an 80386DX processor with a clock speed of 16 MHz. The IC697CPU789 module communicates with other PLC modules through a VME-compatible rack backplane.
