The IC697CPX772 is a central processing unit (CPU) module in the 90-70 series of Programmable Logic controllers (PLC) from Emerson Automation. In particular, the module comes with multiple communication interfaces, one (1) RJ11 serial communication interface and two (2) 9-pin D-shell RS485 communication ports. The processor supports SNP Slave, Break-Free SNP (Slave), SNPX, and RTU serial protocols. The processor has 512 KB of random access memory (RAM) and 256 KB of non-volatile flash memory. The processor supports floating-point calculations, which is the data format used in actual calculations and transactions, because floating-point math supports decimal values. It can accommodate up to 2K discrete inputs and any combination of discrete outputs as well as 8K words of analog input and output data. The processor is equipped with an 80486DX4 microprocessor with a clock speed of 96 MHz. For Bollean execution, each Boolean instruction is executed at 0.4 microseconds. It is also equipped with a battery-powered real-time clock (RTC) with a maximum accuracy of +/- 3.5 seconds per day and a maximum accuracy of +/- 0.1% through the clock. The module's lithium battery catalog number is IC697ACC701, which has a shelf life of 20 years when operating at 5 degrees and a memory retention period of 6 months. The IC697CPX772 has a current consumption of 3.1A and an operating temperature of 0-60 degrees Celsius. The IC697CPX772 has a three (3) bit operating mode switch for locally changing the controller's operating mode. It also features seven (7) status leds such as OK, RUN, EN, P1, P2, and P3. It also features a MEM PROTECT LED that indicates activation when the memory protection switch is engaged.
The GE Fanuc IC697CPX772 module is a 96 MHZ CPU module. The IC697CPX772 module is a 32-point module with 512 KB of user memory. In addition, the module contains 256 KB of non-volatile flash memory. The IC697CPX772 module occupies a slot in the PLC rack. The microprocessor used in this module is the 80486DX4 microprocessor with a main frequency of 96 MHZ. Three integrated serial ports are provided on the module. The three ports are independent and can be accessed from a connector on the front of the module. Serial ports can be used to connect serial devices and serial programming terminals. Port 1 supports the RS-232 serial communication protocol and has a 6-pin RJ-11 connector. Port 2 supports the RS-485 serial communication protocol and has a 15-pin female D-type connector. Port 3 of the IC697CPX772 CPU module also supports the RS-485 protocol. The difference is that port 2 is optically coupler-isolated, while port 3 is not. The IC697CPX772 module has a rated current consumption of 3.1 amps. The input voltage required for the module is 5 volts DC. Modules operate in a temperature range of 32 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit. The following three different types of rack fan components can be used with the IC697CPX772 module: 120 volt AC power supply, 240 volt AC power supply, and 24 volt DC power supply. The IC697CPX772 module supports floating point math operations, 2000 input/output, and 8000 analog I/O. The module is programmed by software running on DOS or Windows systems. The programming computer can be connected to the CPU module via a serial connection or Ethernet connection.
