The IC697PWR710 is a Programmable logic controller (PLC) power module mounted on a 90-70 series baseboard. The module provides the necessary backplane power supply to power modules installed in the same baseplate. The IC697PWR710 operates when connected to an external AC or DC power supply, specifically 90-264 VAC, at a frequency of 47-63 Hz or 100-150 VDC. The module has a maximum input power of 90 watts at full load, an input half-cycle peak surge of 3 amps (typical), and a power factor greater than.95. It offers a maximum output power of 56 watts and a nominal output voltage of 5.1 VDC with an output voltage range of 4.90-5.25 VDC. The IC697PWR710 has full overvoltage and overcurrent limits, specifically, 6.2 volts (typical values provided by internal electronic voltage protection) and 12 amps (typical values provided by integrated electronic current limits). The power supply also has a 21 ms AC input loss traverse time and is designed to be compatible with VME standard C.1. The IC697PWR710 comes with a ground terminal that can be used to improve the system's noise resistance. Establish a connection to the module ground terminal using U.S. Wire Gauge (AWG) #12 or 3.3 mm2 wire. The module GND terminal is intended to connect to the rack GND terminal and is then designed to connect to the functional ground GND. Tighten the connection with a torque of 12 in-lb or 1.3 N-m, and use only copper conductors rated at 75 degrees Celsius.

The IC697PWR710 power module is a 120 to 240 volt AC or 125 volt DC rated power module manufactured by GE Fanuc. The IC697PWR710 power module is part of the 90-70 series platform manufactured by GE Fanu. It comes with an active power factor correction circuit to maintain a cohesive power factor without the need for oversized circuit breakers and wiring. The IC697PWR710 has overvoltage protection. The electronic overvoltage protection circuit pinches the output when the 5 volt bus voltage rises and exceeds 6.2 volts. This prevents external overvoltage on the output from causing the power fuse to disconnect. The IC697PWR710 power module is set up so that if the power supply fails internally due to overvoltage conditions, the fuse will not be disconnected. The IC697PWR710 power module is also equipped with overcurrent protection in the form of a 12-amp electronic overcurrent limit. If the maximum rated current is exceeded, the output voltage will drop. Ideally, the IC697PWR710 power module will remain secure until high loads are removed or lowered so that current overloads do not cause fuses to open. The IC697PWR710 power module provides dual rack protection through two racks and can operate under different conditions. For example, the second rack requires only 5 volts of power, and the total power required for both racks is within the power supply's capacity. The IC697PWR710 power module is a plug-in module that can be installed in the leftmost slot of any standard IC697 rack or in a VME integrator rack. Just firmly grasp the left corner of the door to easily open the power door.
